We have two eyes, two ears, one nose, and one mouth each. Five senses always lead people’s lives. That’s why design’ is important. ‘Design’ has almost become one of the most important factors for our lives. In 21C, nothing goes on without design. People always choose everything according designs. They choose clothes to wear, house to live, or sometimes even food to eat according to design. In every ordinary life, design exists. That’s why Seoul’s becoming World Design Capital is a big and significant news.

Indeed, design has become one large element in human lives in modern age. People even name a city as World Design Capital! The reason why I belive Seoul will grow by large amount after this point is that nowadays’ people choose places to visit and live according to design, and people almost alwayas judge everything from its design. For example, people have fantasy in cities where major fashion collections are held, which are Milan, Paris, London, and New York. Those cities’ tourism is immense, as everyone knows. This means that cities that prosper from designs also prosper in many ways. People want to go to Paris to see Eiffel Tower,Montrmartre, and walk avenue des Champs-Élysées. People visit New York to visit beautiful stores at Time Square, Soho, and Saks Fifth Avenue. People fascinate about Spain’s buildings designed by Gaudi. Why is Dubai well-known? because all those newly built buildings and even an artificially built island are well-designed in state-of-art fashion! It’s all about design, or may be it has always been all about design adn it’s more about design now.

Well-designed things that satisfy people’s five senses and sometimes even touch not only people’s heart and feelings but also touch their brain by its utility convenience always attract people. I know Seoul has many factors to be a World Design Capital. Also, I know Seoul is always turning itself into be a World Design Capital that is recognized by every citizen in the world. Seoul is a fashionable city, and has a bright future to be more and more well-designed. I believe sometimes Seoul will be a name that is called by people in other countries as somewhere they want to visit once before they die. Actually, Seoul already is.

Visit Seoul in 2010, visit World Design Capital 2010, and be fashionable!

XOXO, Anne!

  1. Really your city has a charm that attracts many people and you are doing a great job promoting their country and culture with pride.

My country, Panama, oh, we have sun and heat. It’s summertime. People are enjoying the beach and time in the field. Funny. The year is projected very well for us.

You have had a very hard winter, unusual … I saw the news … I hope to be careful.

  2. Great!!! Seoul can win this year again. Seoul has all the elements for success: impressive structures, people, everything. Fighting!!! Good Luck
